THE LATEST ON THE RAND WATER MAINTENANCE

Meanwhile, potable supplier Rand Water has announced that it will complete its month-long water infrastructure maintenance which commenced on 22 June.

The final phase of the maintenance includes work at Zuikerbosch Water Treatment Plant which commenced on 5:00 on Monday and will end at 21:00 on Tuesday.

“This maintenance work involves maintenance of various valves, pipelines as well as electrical and mechanical assets. The work will impact water supply to the Palmiet Pumping Station as pumping will be reduced to 70% during this period implying that 24% of Palmiet’s pumping capacity will be out of production,” Rand Water spokesperson Makenosi Maroo said.

The maintenance work will mostly affect Johannesburg Water systems such as Sandton, Midrand, South Hills Tower, Alexandra Park, Randjieslaagte and Linksfield Towers.

Rand Water customers in the City of Tshwane and Ekurhuleni will also be affected.
