HOW JMPD UNCOVERED THE GAMBLING SHOP IN RANDBURG
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla attributed the shutdown to the prompt action by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Operations who managed to uncover the illegal gambling spot in Newlands, Randburg.
“On Sunday, 21 May 2023, whilst on patrol officers noticed a shop at Long Road, in Newlands where there was a suspicious movement of people walking in and out. The officers suspected that something illegal was taking place at the shop.
The officers went inside the shop and found a room full of computers which displayed online gambling,” Fihla explained.
