IFP calls for Blade Nzimande’s resignation
IFP says there has to accountability in the highest levels of government to restore the credibility of NSFAS.
A nonchalant response by Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande over the cancellation of four service provider contract by the National Students Financial Aid Scheme(NSFAS), has lead to the IFP wanting Nzimande to take some accountability.
IFP WANTS ACCOUNTABILITY

This comes after an investigation by law firm Werkmans Attorneys and Advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi revealed that NSFAS CEO Andile Nongogo, flouted tender processes and also had a hand in selecting the service providers.
When asked about the report in parliament, Nzimande was, according to IFP spokesperson on higher education Sanele Zondo, dismissive and says things have be blown out of proportion.

“NSFAS is doing okay nezikinga ezikhona azikho ngendlela osekushiwo ngayo futh ngihlanganile neBoard konke Kuzolunga”, said Nzimande.
The four implicated companies are Ezaga Holdings, Norraco Corporation, Tenet Technology.

NONGOGO’S FUTURE

NSFAS board chairperson, Ernest Khosa on Wednesday that Nongogo who has since been suspended has until Monday to put forward reasons as to why he should not be fired.
Zondo meanwhile, wants the CEO to face possible jail time.

“Such negligence and the failure to fulfil the mandate of NSFAS are unacceptable. The IFP insists on a thorough investigation, and if found guilty of misconduct, Nongogo must face legal consequences, which could include jail time” says Zondo.
