The Central Energy Fund (CEF) has confirmed the price increases for petrol and diesel in South Africa for March 2024.

The increases will come into effect from midnight on Tuesday, 5 March.
Both grades of petrol (93 and 95) will increase by 121 cents per litre both inland and at the coast, while diesel 0.05% will rise by 106 cents per litre.
Diesel 0.005% will see a 119 cents per litre price hike.

FUEL PRICE IN SOUTH AFRICA IMPACTED BY TWO MAIN FACTORS:
1. The international price of petroleum products, driven mainly by oil prices
2. The rand/dollar exchange rate used in the purchase of these products

At the time of publishing the brent crude oil price is $83.91 a barrel.
Exchange rate
At the time of publishing the rand/dollar exchange rate is R19.03/$.
The final overall price changes for both petrol and diesel will be confirmed in the weeks ahead with the new prices coming into effect at midnight on Tuesday, 5 March.
