Gauteng to face an 18-hour power outage next week
Eskom’s scheduled maintenance will lead to a nine-hour power outage in parts of Gauteng on November 19 and 20.
Sections of Snake Park in Soweto, Gauteng, will experience two separate nine-hour power outages as part of Eskom’s scheduled maintenance.
The maintenance is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, and Wednesday, November 20, from 9:00 to 18:00
ESKOM ANNOUNCES POWER OUTAGE IN GAUTENG
The power utility said there will be electricity supply disruption in Snake Park, Soweto due to maintenance that will be conducted on the distribution network.
The power outage will affect customers in Snake Park Blocks 4, 5, 6 and 7 on Tuesday, 19 November, from 9:00 – 18:00. The same maintenance will also be conducted on Wednesday,20 November, from 9:00 – 18:00.
Eskom said the interruption of electricity is necessary to perform essential maintenance on its distribution power lines. However, should any circumstances beyond its control arise, the planned electricity maintenance may not proceed.
CUSTOMERS URGED TO TREAT ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES AS LIVE
In the interest of safety, Eskom said customers should treat all electrical appliances as live at all times during the power outage.
“Eskom apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused by this maintenance. Should circumstances beyond the control of Eskom arise, the planned electricity maintenance may not proceed as communicated,” the power utility added.
