The latest fuel price adjustments in SA will take effect at midnight on Tuesday, 2 April. Here’s why you should fill up your car TODAY.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy ahead of the Easter long weekend confirmed the official fuel price adjustments which will take effect from midnight on Tuesday, 2 April 2024.
As reported by the SAPeople website, both petrol types (93 and 95) will see price hikes.
Strangely, the increase is almost double what the projections estimated.
Even more strangely, inland and coastal prices will see different increases – or decreases – for April.
Below, the latest price changes as received by the SAPeople website from the CEF, effective midnight on Tuesday, 2 April 2024.

FUEL PRICE IN SOUTH AFRICA IMPACTED BY TWO MAIN FACTORS:
1. The international price of petroleum products, driven mainly by oil prices
2. The rand/dollar exchange rate used in the purchase of these products
Oil price
At the time of publishing the brent crude oil price is $87.95 a barrel.
Exchange rate
At the time of publishing the rand/dollar exchange rate is R18.93/$.
