Fikile Mbalula digs into Nathi Nhleko following ANC resignation
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula has ripped into former Police Minister Nathi Nhleko following his resignation from the ANC.
ANC secretary-general Fikile Mbalula calls former Minister of Police Nathi Nhleko’s resignation from the ANC a walk of shame for misleading Parliament and millions of South Africans about the Nkandla fire pool to protect former President Jacob Zuma.
Nhleko said in a letter to senior ANC leaders that he was unhappy with Mbalula and the ruling party because its current values and principles were not aligned with him.
I see Nathi Nhleko has resigned from the Anc and he blame it on me,What a cheap wayout ,This fellow told the whole country that a swimming pool is a fire pool, He replaced a competent police officer Dramat crime fighter with an apartheid disastrous erratic cop called Berning…

STRUTTING LIKE A PEACOCK AFTER SHAMEFUL REPORT – FIKILE MBALULA
“I see Nathi Nhleko has resigned from the ANC, and he blames it on me; what a cheap way out. This fellow told the whole country that a swimming pool is a fire pool. Indeed, our revolution did produce villains,” Mbalula said on X.
He said: “Nhleko is strutting like a peacock calling his shameful report on Nkandla “research.’’ No shame at all. This guy was reprimanded for that report by the highest court in the land.”
‘DEEPLY SAD AND PAINFUL’ – NHLEKO RESIGNATION LETTER
In his resignation letter to the ANC, Nathi Nhleko said it was unfortunate and painful to see the organisation that he loved dearly turning into something he could no longer recognise.
“The trend of gradually dismantling state-owned enterprises and subsequently privatising them covertly is exemplified by the situation at Transnet. Transnet transport volumes exceeded 220 million tonnes in 2018; by 2022, this figure had dwindled to nearly 170 million tonnes. Consequently, and regrettably, I resign from this ANC as its current values and principles are not aligned with mine,” Nhleko said.
FORMER HPCSA PRESIDENT DR KGOSI LETLAPE RESIGNS
Another high-profile individual who resigned from the ANC this week is world-renowned health expert and former president of the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), Dr Kgosi Letlape. He resigned over what is suspected to be a difference of opinion with the Government on the National Health Insurance (NHI).
Letlape resigned from the ruling party with immediate effect. According to recent public comments, the healthcare activist accused the Government of opening another stream of swindling funds with the NHI, which received a boost of R1,3 billion from the National Treasury.
