eThekwini’s sewerage spill woes continue
Residents of a Durban township has accused their councillor of turning a blind eye as they suffer with sewerage spill into their homes.
Continued sewerage spills continues to plague the eThekwini Municipality and puts residents health at risk.
SEWERAGE SPILLS INTO HOMES
In a video posted on social media, sewerage can be seen filling into a residents home, especially imprisoning them in their home.

COURT CASES
This year has been a bad year, with spillage sewerage cases pilling up.
Earlier this year, Ground Up revealed that residents in Siyanda B in KwaMashu had endured sewerage spill unabated for six years.

Meanwhile, the ward 41 councillor Nhlanhla Sibisi, put the blame on residents, accusing them of blocking the residents of throwing rubbish into the sewerage system and blocking it.
Both ActionSA and the KZN Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (Edtea) have both opened cases against the municipality and officials.
