BREAKDOWNS
Breakdowns account for 16 546MW of the generation capacity unavailable at the moment, while a further 2497MW is offline for planned maintenance.
Over the past 24 hours, four generating units have been returned to service. During the same period, two units broke down, and there were delays in returning three units to the grid. Eskom said these breakdowns and delays were contributing to capacity constraints.
“Eskom teams are working round the clock to return these generating units to service over the next few days,” said the power utility.
