Emirates ramps up flights along Johannesburg-Dubai route
Emirates will soon introduce yet another daily flight along its popular Johannesburg to Dubai route. Here’s when it will begin…
More flights to Dubai from Emirates
Following the successful launch of the second daily A380 between Dubai and Johannesburg earlier this month, Emirates is set to add a fourth daily flight on its Johannesburg to Dubai route.
According to reports, the fourth daily service will add 354 more seats flying out from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport, on a three-class Boeing 777-300ER.
Emirates Deputy President and COO, Adnan Kazim, said that the airline had now reintroduced the capacity it offered to South Africa pre-pandemic, with 49 weekly flights across three gateways, Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town.
The fourth daily flight will kick off on the following schedule:
- The departing flight will leave Johannesburg at 10:15 and arrive in Dubai at 20:15
- The return flight will then depart Dubai at 00:10 and arrive in Johannesburg at 06:20
Re-opened lounge at OR Tambo International Airport
In related news, Emirates also recently re-opened its lounge at OR Tambo International Airport, which is dedicated to premium customers and Skywards members.
Located at the Mezzanine Level, a short walk from the boarding gates at departure Terminal A, the newly renovated and exclusively dedicated lounge space offers customers even greater levels of comfort, hospitality and convenience as they start their journey in Johannesburg.
All Emirates First and Business class passengers as well as Platinum and Gold Emirates Skywards members, the airline’s frequent flyer program, travelling on the airline’s now four daily flights from Johannesburg to Dubai and beyond will have access to the new facility.
What’s new at the lounge?
The space features a refreshed and sophisticated design, blending contemporary elements with Middle Eastern influences. Passengers can enjoy a visually stunning and comfortable space with cosy chairs and sofas to relax before their flights.
First and business class passengers will have access to a host of amenities including relaxed and formal seating, a fully equipped business centre with six state of the art touch screen workstations, complimentary Wi-Fi, LED TVs, bespoke artwork, restroom with showers, as well as a prayer room.
Passengers can also treat themselves to an extensive complimentary buffet that includes a spread of local, Middle Eastern, Asian, and European dishes, along with classic South African desserts paired with a fine selection of wine and beverages.
