EFF swiftly replaces Ndlozi in Parliament

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has reshuffled its parliamentary representation after the resignation of several prominent members.

The party has replaced its former spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, who recently resigned as a member of Parliament. It has also filled the chief whip position once occupied by its co-founder Floyd Shivambu, before he left in August 2024 to join the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.

EFF MAKES CHANGES IN PARLIAMENT

Following the resignations, the EFF said it has realigned its Parliamentary caucus to reflect the changes in leadership and fill vacancies to ensure that it remains an effective opposition in Parliament.

“The changes represent a combination of strong institutional memory both within the EFF and Parliament, youth, loyalty and service to the EFF, as well as vast educational and organisational experience,” EFF spokesperson Leigh-Ann Mathys said.

Here are the changes in the EFF parliamentary whippery:

The party’s newly-elected chairperson Notando Nolutshungu is the new chief whip and will work alongside:

• The party’s treasurer-general Omphile Maotwe
• Former national chairperson Veronica Mente
• Natasha Ntlangwini
• Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi
• Sam Matisse
• Mandisa Makesini who will serve as the whip in the National Council of Provinces (NCOP)

Here are the changes in the National Assembly:

• Naledi Chirwa, who served in the NCOP in the beginning of the seventh administration, will replace Mbuyiseni Ndlozi
• Nqobile Mhlongo replaces Ntokozo Hlonyane
• Chumani Matiwane replaces Yazini Tetyana

Here are the changes in the NCOP:

• Mampuru Mampuru replaces Naledi Chirwa
• Asanda Matshobeni replaces Nolubabalo Mcinga
