DJ TIRA IS LIVING IN FEAR

The Sikilidi hitmaker told Daily Sun that he always ensures that he accepts bookings only if all the safety measures have been taken.

This comes after his friend and rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes was gunned down in Durban in February this year.

“You don’t know what can happen anywhere. I check my safety first when I get booked, and where I don’t feel safe, I don’t go.

“At the moment, I’m putting my safety first until the situation gets back to normal.

“Who knew that someone would be killed on a Florida road? The popular and busiest road in Durban? And just like that, someone was shot dead,” DJ Tira said.

The Afrotainment owner also urged government and the citizens of South Africa to work together to stop theses murders.

All people need protection from the killings, not only celebs,” he said.

CASSPER NYOVEST BEEFS UP SECURITY

DJ TIra is not the only one who has bwwfed up security. Last year, rapper and businessman Cassper Nyovest — real name Refiloe Phoolo — said he also feels unsafe following the brutal murder of his friend and amapiano pioneer DJ Sumbody. The Ayepyep Lifestyle co-owner was shot and killed in Johannesburg in November last year.

At the time, Cassper told Zimoja that someone sent him pictures of a wounded and lifeless DJ Sumbody, and that disturbed him.

“It’s not safe, man. I have been ignorant for a very long time and DJ Sumbody’s death woke me and made me realise that we are not safe. His death really f**ked me up,” he said.

The Baby Girl hitmaker also explained that his decision to get protection is also motivated by the fact that he is a public figure; he lives in a mansion, drives luxury cars and owns expensive jewellery.

“I am always walking around with expensive jewellery. I can’t afford to put my life at risk and tempt people.

“I also need to remember who I am; I am Cassper Nyovest. I am not just some normal guy who can just walk around freely. I would love to live like that, walk round the streets and not be recognised, but I am not that guy.
