A well-known cricket journalist has shared a clip of a frightening ‘engine failure’ that apparently occurred during a flight at 15 000 feet.
Taking to Twitter on Monday, Neil Manthorp posted a video which showed a stationary propeller on one side of the plane that he was travelling in during an unspecified flight.
“Engine failure at 15,000 feet!” he commented.
“Limped back to ORT (OR Tambo International Airport) on one prop.”

Manthorp is one of the most well-known and longest-serving cricket broadcasters in South Africa, having worked in the industry for over three decades.
He has served as a writer for numerous publications, worked extensively as a regular commentator for SABC, and is a published author.
His experience on Monday is the sort of worst nightmare for any nervy flight passengers, but thankfully he was able to report that they landed safely later on in the day.
