South Africa’s beloved coffee creamer, Cremora, is entering a new chapter as it transitions to a new owner.
Nestlé’s decision to sell the brand to Lactalis South Africa has been approved by the Competition Commission, Business Tech reports, ensuring the popular product remains available to consumers without disruption.
Lactalis SA expands its local footprint with Cremora
Lactalis SA, a company already home to well-known South African brands such as President, Parmalat, Melrose, and Steri Stumpie, is now adding Cremora to its portfolio. The company, which was founded in 1933 by André Besnier in Laval, France, sees this acquisition as a strategic move to broaden its product range to cater to local consumer preferences.
General Manager of Lactalis SA, Herman Janse van Rensburg, emphasized that the brand’s transition will be smooth and beneficial for all stakeholders involved.
“We will continue to build on Cremora’s rich heritage together as we integrate the business into Lactalis SA to ensure seamless continuity for employees, suppliers, distributors, and consumers,” van Rensburg stated, as per Business Tech.
He further highlighted that Cremora’s long-term success would be driven by Lactalis’s legacy and the experience of existing Cremora employees, ensuring that the product remains a staple in South African households.
