First of its’ kind all-inclusive resort to open in SA in 2026
Construction is steaming ahead at South Africa’s very first Club Med resort, which is set to open up in less than two years.

South Africa is set to get its very first all-inclusive Club Med resort in July 2026.
According to Tourism Update, construction of the resort is currently in full swing and is moving steadily toward its scheduled opening in July 2026.
The resort is officially named Club Med South Africa and is situated along the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast.
Olivier Perillat-Piratoine, Managing Director of Club Med South Africa, said he was delighted to share that construction is well on track for the opening in July 2026.
“We look forward to onboarding the market and engaging with our customers on this fantastic venture. We will share more information on the resort and the future experience our guests can expect as the construction progresses.” Perillat-Piratoine said as per Tourism Update.
Three phases of construction currently underway
Due to the size of the resort, the construction process has required a phased approach – with the hotel section, the exclusive villas and the convention centre and parking section currently underway.
Construction for the hotel has already reached the first floor of the main hotel at Club Med South Africa Beach, which will comprise 345 rooms. The resort centre, which will have a main pool, main restaurant and bar, welcome area and boutique, is also underway. The family area, which includes a family pool and kids’ clubs, as well as the sports area is also on track.

Finally, the groundwork has also begun on the state-of-the-art conference centre, designed to accommodate 500 people, along with the resort’s parking area, which will maintain a vehicle-free zone for guests’ safety and tranquility.
