Imagine having enough money as a teenager to never have to work a single day in your life.

That’s the case for the world’s richest teen, Italy’s Clemente Del Vecchio.

But, Del Vecchio only has a little over two weeks left as the holder of that ‘record’.

Why?

Because the Italian teenager will turn 20 on 14 May.

INHERITED HIS FATHER’S FORTUNE

Del Vecchio is one of six children of Leonardo Del Vecchio, the late chairman of EssilorLuxottica, the world’s largest eyeglasses firm.

He inherited a 12.5% stake in his father’s Luxembourg-based holding company Delfin after his death, along with his stepmother and six siblings.

Besides EssilorLuxottica, Delfin also owns shares in insurer Generali, banks Mediobanca and UniCredit and real estate developer Covivio.

He is one of two children Del Vecchio had with Sabina Grossi, Luxottica’s former head of investor relations, along with his brother Luca.

After inheriting his stake in his father’s fortune in 2022, Clemente became the world’s youngest billionaire at age 18.

Clemente Del Vecchio maintains a low profile and reportedly does not directly engage in his father’s businesses.

According to the Forbes Real Time Billionaires website, Clemente Del Vecchio is the 682nd richest person in the world with a net worth of $4.6 billion (at the time of publishing).

His mantle of “richest under 20-year-old in the world” will be inherited by Brazil’s Livia Voigt.

Livia Voigt is one of the largest individual shareholders of WEG, the largest manufacturer of electrical motors in Latin America.

The company was co-founded by her grandfather Werner Ricardo Voigt along with late billionaires Eggon Joao da Silva and Geraldo Werninghaus.

A publicly-traded multinational with factories in over 10 countries, WEG had revenues of approximately $6 billion in 2022.

Livia does not hold a board seat or any executive position at WEG. She is currently attending university.

It’s unclear when Voigt will celebrate her 20th birthday.

Voigt is currently the 2 545th richest person in the world with a personal fortune of $1.1 billion.
