Cape Town plans essential 7-hour power outages
Parts of Cape Town will be without electricity due to planned maintenance that will take place over several days.
The City of Cape Town says a necessary electricity supply interruption due to planned maintenance will be carried out in Bonteheuwel over several days in February.
If all goes to plan, the work will be carried out over four days on 4, 12, 18 and 26 February from 08:30 to 16:00.

The municipality emphasised that interruptions to supply will only impact the highlighted areas on the maps and only on the relevant dates.

POWER COULD BE RESTORED ANYTIME
In addition, the City of Cape Town said electricity supply could be restored at any time and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned maintenance work.
“Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution and to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on.
“The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation and understanding,” the municipality said.
