CAPE TOWN MOTORISTS TO BE AWARE THIS EASTER SEASON

Traffic police are cracking down on individuals with unpaid fines as Easter travellers prepare for long-distance trips nationwide.

According to Cape Town etc, the City has stated that it will bring back its traffic fine roadshow in a bid to ‘clear 17,000 outstanding fines and 5,000 warrants’, in a media statement issued on Sunday, 17 March 2024.

The City of Cape Town stated that the roadshow will be an opportunity for motorists to ‘clear any outstanding fines or warrants, in a central location’, to avoid the risk of a run-in at a roadblock.

From Monday, 25 March 2024, until Wednesday, 27 March 2024, the roadshow will be at the Cape Town Civic Centre to assist motorists with their outstanding fees.

During the festive period in December 2023, around R4.6 million was collected, assisting over 2,000 clients, finalizing 16,923 fines and 5,150 warrants.
