Mourners have skinned two already slaughtered giraffes and six impalas as part of the preparations for the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi’s funeral.
BUTHELEZI’S FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS UNDERWAY
The animals were skinned at Buthelezi’s home in KwaPhindangene in Ulundi, northern KwaZulu-Natal, on Thursday to provide meat for mourners on Friday when Buthelezi’s body will be brought back to his home.

His funeral will be on Saturday.
TWO SLAUGHTERED GIRAFFES AND IMPALAS SKINNED
Ezemvelo spokesperson Musa Mntambo confirmed to TimesLIVE that they donated the animals after they received a formal written request from the Buthelezi royal household.
“We did as per the request. We donated two giraffes and six impalas. We donated to them as a traditional authority, which is something we normally do to traditional authorities around our game reserves,” he said.

PRESIDENT CYRIL RAMAPHOSA WILL DELIVER THE EULOGY
Several dignitaries, including President Cyril Ramaphosa and former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo, are expected to attend Buthelezi’s final farewell.
Ramaphosa will also deliver the eulogy.
Cele said government was working well with the IFP and the Buthelezi family.

Meanwhile, questions have continuously arise around Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi and the use of the title ‘uMntwana’ or ‘Prince’.
During a memorial service for Buthelezi in Ulundi on Wednesday, Prince Thulani Zulu put to bed any questions over Buthelezi’s royal title.
