The Bulls have confirmed the signing of a former Stormers backline star to replace the outgoing Springbok wing Sbu Nkosi at Loftus.

Earlier in the week, the Bulls announced that the union had parted ways with Springbok winger Sbu Nkosi by mutual agreement. That left a void in Jake White’s side’s backline ahead of the upcoming United Rugby Championship season.

But on Thursday afternoon, the Bulls revealed that they had secured the services of flyer Sergeal Petersen.

Petersen rose to prominence during his time at the Kings in the then Super Rugby competition, but most recently played for John Dobson’s Stormers in the Cape Town.

He traded the Stormers for the Blue Sharks, a Japanese side competing in the Top League.

In a short statement released on their social media platforms, the team from Pretoria raved about its newest recruit.

“Sergeal Petersen is officially a Vodacom Bull. After representing the Southern Kings, Toyota Cheetahs, DHL Stormers, and spending a season in Japan, the electric wing/fullback has found a new home at Loftus.”

Earlier in the week, Jake White’s team also confirmed that wing Stravino Jacobs has signed a new long-term contract after an impressive start to his career in Pretoria.

The Paarl Gimnasium alumnus has won two Currie Cup titles since making his debut for the side from Pretoria in 2020.

The 23-year-old was in a good run of form before an untimely injury brought his season to an end earlier this year.

On Wednesday, the Bulls confirmed that Jacobs had signed an extension to stay at Loftus Versfeld until 2027.
