More flights from British Airways
British Airways has announced that it will soon double its A380 Johannesburg flights.
As reported by Travel News, starting in June next year, the airline will begin operating both of its double-daily Johannesburg services using an A380, increasing seats on the route by about 30%
The additional capacity will mainly be in economy class, with 352 more seats for sale each day. There will also be 110 more in business, 32 more in premium economy, and 12 more in first class, Simple Flying reports.
The flights schedule for the daily flights will be as follows:
BA54 will depart Johannesburg at 21:05 and arrive at London Heathrow at 07:25, the following day.
BA54 will depart London Heathrow at 19:05 and arrive in Johannesburg at 07:15, the following day.
BA54 will depart Johannesburg at 19:20 and arrive at London Heathrow at 05:30, the following day.
BA54 will depart London Heathrow at 21:25 and arrive in Johannesburg at 09:25, the following day.
More flights to Cape Town too
British Airways also recently revealed that it would expand its London Heathrow to Cape Town seasonal schedule for the upcoming South African summer season.
Startingat the end of October, British Airways will introduce an additional daily flight between the two destinations.
Then from 10 January 2025, the frequency will increase to three daily services, increasing the total number of flights between Cape Town and London Heathrow to 21 a week.
This increase will replace BA’s three-weekly seasonal flights from London Gatwick to Cape Town.
This London Gatwick service will only operate from 13 December and will come to an end on 8 January 2025.
“The United Kingdom has always been a key market for Cape Town and the Western Cape, and we are thrilled to enhance our connectivity with the introduction of additional daily flights from London Heathrow,” Wrenelle Stander, Wesgro CEO and official spokesperson for Cape Town Air Access said.
