BRICS summit 2023: Things that happened in the summit TODAY
Wednesday marks the second day of the 15th BRICS Summit, which is currently underway at the Sandton Convention Centre.
The 15th BRICS Summit, which boasts over 40 heads of state in attendance, began on Tuesday and will conclude on Thursday.
PUTIN CLAIMS THAT BRICS WORKS FOR THE “GLOBAL MAJORITY”
According to taped remarks from a BRICS summit on Tuesday in South Africa, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the BRICS countries were on track to satisfy the goals of the majority of the world’s people.

According to Putin, “We cooperate on the tenets of equality, partnership support, and respect for each other’s interests, and this is the essence of the future-oriented strategic course of our association, a course that meets the aspirations of the majority of people in the world, the so-called global majority.”
He did not mention that the BRICS summit will likely debate adding new members, despite the fact that Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa together make up more than 40% of the world’s population.

DURING THE SUMMIT TALKS, THERE WAS NO AGREEMENT ON DE-DOLLARIZATION, BUT PUTIN CLAIMS THE PROCESS IS “IRREVERSIBLE AND GAINING PACE”
After the Business Forum failed to reach agreement on Tuesday, the leaders must now debate dedollarizing the economies of the Brics.
Entrepreneurs, officials, businesspeople, and academics attended the forum, which served as the opening of the 15th Brics Summit taking place in Sandton this week.
