You can stop trying to unscramble what the news BRICS name could be. The name is not going to change even with six new countries joining.
As President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the official adoption of the five new BRICS members on Thursday, social media become a buzz, trying to figure out what the new name of the organization may be going forward.
SIX COUNTRIES JOIN BRICS
Ramaphosa was speaking at the BRICS Summit at the Sandton Convention Centre.
About 23 countries expressed their interest to join and have since decided on bringing on board Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Their membership will come into effect on the 1 January 2024.

LAVROV SETS THE RECORD STRAIGHT

With since new members, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov was quick settle matters regarding the groups name. Lavrov says the group will retain the same to show continuity.
The current name is an acronym made from the first letter of each member country- Brazil, Russia,India,China,South Africa.
“Everyone says that the name should remain unchanged, it has already become a brand. None of the new members suggested otherwise”, he said at a press conference
“It seems to me that everyone understands that it is better to leave everything as it is, this will emphasize the continuity of all our work,” he added.

Some social media user had enlisted the help of AI program Chat GPT and letter unscramblers, to generate a new name for the group, seeing that there are new members.
Some of the names generated include Brace Is U, Bruise Cante, Cruise Beat and Brace United.
