Have you spotted a LION in the Oakdene area in Johannesburg? Reports of a lion on the loose are doing the rounds.
BREAKING: HAVE YOU SPOTTED A LION IN THE OAKDENE AREA?
According to the Johannesburg SPCA their inspectors have been receiving numerous phone calls about a lion or maybe a lioness that was spotted on Monday morning in Oakdene.

“The JSPCA Inspectors have been out and about looking for the lion/lioness but have yet to spot one.
“This afternoon (Monday), we got calls stating the lion/lioness was near The Glen shopping centre. Again we went out but could not find one.”Johannesburg SPCA

DO NOT APPROACH THE LION OR LIONESS
The SPCA urged the public NOT to approach him or her, stay inside and phone our Duty Inspector on 083 604 1172.
“We are not sure if it is true or not but we are not taking chances -in SA anything is possible!!”
Earlier this year, several wild animals were reported on the loose in several parts of South Africa.

SEVERAL ANIMALS WERE REPORTED ON THE LOOSE EARLIER THIS YEAR
In June, a lion was on the loose on the N1 near the town of Beaufort West.
In March, three buffalos were on the loose in Kempton Park near the R25 between Serengeti and Eastlands.
In August, a wandering leopard was spotted in the Roodeplaat Dam Nature Reserve outside Pretoria.

SHEBA THE TIGER ESCAPED IN THE BEGINING OF THE YEAR
Sheba the tiger escaped from her enclosure in Midvaal on Saturday, 14 January. The tiger attacked 37-year-old William Mokoena and killed his dog and a pig.
At the end of January, ANOTHER tiger is on the loose in Edenvale, Gauteng.
