Avaaz Campaign for ‘No Confidence’ in Zuma Already Has Over 170K Signatures

It must be impossible for top members of the ANC to not see how many South Africans of all political leanings are protesting for the removal of, not the ANC, but just its leader Jacob Zuma… in favour of another ANC President who will put South Africa first.

An Avaaz campaign has already gathered over 170,000 signatures…

Momentum is gathering in the country as many South Africans have had enough of what they perceive as a corrupt leader who is very close to the wealthy Gupta Family who appear to have power over the firings and hirings of major government ministers.

Following Zuma’s disastrous Cabinet Reshuffle – in which he fired Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan, amongst others, South Africans have marched across the country – and in countries abroad – asking the ANC to recall Zuma.

A motion of no confidence, brought by opposition parties, will be held in Parliament on 18 April 2017.

The Avaaz campaign is addressed to Members of the South African Parliament and says:

“We, citizens from across our beautiful country, respectfully call on you to defend our democracy and fulfil your duty with a vote of “No confidence” in the proposed parliamentary vote on Zuma’s leadership.”

The organisers say that 18 April may be Zuma’s last day, and that they will rally leaders to defend South Africa from Zuma. “Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa, COSATU, other unions, and ANC veterans have all spoken out. Now, we need 50 ANC MPs to side with the people — and we’ll ramp up the pressure on each of them until they move.

“Let’s finally free South Africa from Zuma’s chokehold. Sign to join the urgent call and Avaaz will deliver it to every ANC MP.”
