Alleged Limpopo killer cop spent R10 million on wedding and luxuries

The Limpopo police sergeant allegedly used the R10 million insurance payout to finance her mansion, helicopter, extravagant wedding, and a collection of luxury cars.

Limpopo police officer Rachel Raesetja Shokane Kutumela allegedly started her killing spree in 2019 as part of an insurance fraud scheme worth R10 million.

The Citizen reports that the Limpopo police officer, Raesetja Rachel Shokane Kutumela allegedly fraudulently benefitted from funeral, accidental, and life insurance policies from various banks and insurance companies’ worth over R10 million.

Kutumela is facing 19 charges, for murder, fraud, and defeating the ends of justice.

Sunday World reports Shokane has been linked to the murders of Sydney Montja on 19 October 2019, Tsela Malesa on 5 July 2020, Navel Kutumela on 6 April 2021, Ephraim Choshi on 1 August 2021, Jacob Seakamela on 14 September 2022, and Martin Manthata on 13 April 2024.

The case against Kutumela has been postponed to 18 October 2024.
