All Blacks legend Richie McCaw will be among the reported 2 300 invited guests at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, 6 May for King Charles III’s coronation.

As extensively reported by The South African website, the now retired New Zealand loose forward is in London for what promises to be a must-watch occasion.
McCaw took to Instagram on Friday to write: “It’s a privilege to be in London for the King’s Coronation this Saturday.”

McCaw, who has lost a reported 20kg since his playing days, will join around 2 300 other guests including New Zealand Prime Minister Chris Hipkins, world-renowned pop stars, community heroes and world leaders in what will be the first coronation since that of Queen Elizabeth II exactly 70 years ago in 1953.

Arguably the great rugby player of all time, McCaw captained the All Blacks in 110 of his 148 Tests.
RICHIE MCCAW WON THE WORLD CUP TWICE
He was on the winning side in a staggering 131 of those Tests (88.5%) and only tasted defeat 15 times (including six against the Springboks).
He lifted the Webb Ellis Cup as Rugby World Cup-winning skipper on two occasions, the only player to do so.
McCaw was voted World Rugby’s Player of the Year a joint-record three times and was inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame in 2019.
