AKA Murder: Case remanded to 14 March
Five suspects in the AKA and Tibz murder case made their second court appearance today in Durban. Here’s the latest.
Five men suspected in the murder case of Kiernan Jarred Forbes (also known as AKA) and Tebello Motsoane (Tibz) appeared in the Durban Magistrates’ Court for their second hearing today.
The accused, ranging in age from 21 to 36, face a slew of charges including conspiracy to commit murder, murder of Forbes and Motsoane, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and five counts of attempted murder.
COURT SESSION PREPARES FOR MARCH BAIL APPLICATION DATES
Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, NPA Regional Spokesperson for the KZN Division, confirmed, “The court session aimed to verify certain details in anticipation of a forthcoming bail application scheduled for 14, 18, 19, and 27 March 2024.”
The fatal shooting of Forbes and Motsoane occurred last February outside a restaurant in Florida Road, close to Durban’s CBD. It sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and the broader community.
The case has garnered significant public attention, with many hoping for swift justice for the victims and closure for their loved ones.
AKA AND TIBZ BAIL HEARING ADJOURNED TO MARCH 14
The matter has been adjourned to 14 March for the bail hearing, with the accused to remain in custody pending further legal proceedings.
