AKA billboard erected on William Nicol Drive – PICTURE

Johannesburg commuters will be faced with the stark reminder of South African rapper AKA’s death after a giant billboard was erected in his honour on William Nicol Drive.

Last Friday, the hitmaker – and a friend Tebello Tibz Motsoane – were gunned down outside a Florida Road hotspot.

The rapper will be remembered in a public memorial service on Friday, 17 February, and a private funeral the next day.

AKA GETS GIANT BILLBOARD

On his social media accounts, the family of the rapper – real name Kiernan Forbes – posted a clip of the billboard being erected on one of the busiest roads in the country: William Nicol Drive.

“Long Live Supa Mega,” read the caption on the post.

The billboard features one of the final images taken of the star, off his upcoming album Mass Country, set for release on Monday, 27 February.

The billboard was designed by artist Johnny Malepa, who also created AKA’s Touch My Blood billboard back in 2018
