Act of kindness: JMPD officers buy school boy new pair of shoes
JMPD officers have been applauded for changing a school boy’s life after buying him a new pair of school shoes.
Random acts of kindness are slowly becoming synonymous with the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department’s (JMPD) ethos.
JMPD RESTORES SCHOOL BOY’S PRIDE
This after officers recently put a smile on yet another learner who they felt the need to bless with school shoes.
The unidentified boy, wearing worn-out school shoes, was pictured sitting in between the officers as he tried on his brand-new pair.
“Great work by JMPD RegionG operations officers who came across a school boy wearing torn school shoes,” the JMPD management appreciated the colleagues.
LEARNER GETS MORE THAN SCHOOL SHOES
Not only did the officers buy him shoes, but socks as well.
“The officers decided to buy him a new pair of shoes & socks. Thank you officers for this act of kindness.”JMPD

This latest gesture follows that of Officer Thembelihle Harrison Mkosi from Region F1 Operations Directorate who paved the way after buying shoes for a little girl early this year.
The gesture was appreciated by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) Acting Chief of Police Angie Mokasi, who applauded Mkosi from Region F1 Operations Directorate.
JMPD OFFICERS NO STRANGER TO HELPING VULNERABLE KIDS
34-year-old Officer Mkosi had met the 8-year-old learner the day before on Monday, 22 May 2023, at Von Wielligh and Pritchard Street in the Joburg CBD where he was deployed to control morning peak traffic.
By observing the young girl’s school shoes and talking with her, he became aware of her terrible predicament. He then inquired about her shoe size and where she goes to school.
The following day Officer Mkosi went to the girl’s school with a new pair of shoes that he had bought for her.
He explained how excited the girl was to see him, firstly because she did not see him earlier that morning where he is usually deployed to control traffic and secondly because of the new school shoes that Officer Mkosi had bought for her.
