Zimbabwean man steals nearly R900 000 from Mugg & Bean, Kruger Park

Hawks have launched an extensive manhunt for a Zimbabwean man who stole nearly R900 000 from Mugg & Bean in Kruger Park.

Police are looking for a former Mugg & Bean manager at the Kruger National Park, who managed to steal nearly R900 000 from the restaurant.

WHO IS THE MAN?

The Citizen reports that the Hawks are looking for a Zimbabwean man, Amos Tineyi Kampinya, who stole almost R900 000 from Mugg & Bean in Mpumalanga.

Captain Dineo Lucy Sekgotodi said: “The Hawks in Mpumalanga requires assistance from the community to locate the whereabouts of a suspect appearing in the attached photographs known as Amos Tineyi Kampinya (44) a Zimbabwean citizen.”

IOL reports that Kampyinya was working at Mugg & Bean restaurant in the Kruger National Park as a manager during July 2022.

Sekgotodi also revealed to IOL that Kampyinya stole company funds to the amount of R897 229 and disappeared.

“He was sought at his previous known address, at Karino Flats near Mbombela and he was not found,” said Sekgotodi.

Hawks in Mpumalanga, Major General Nicholas Gerber urges Kampinya to surrender himself to the police. Gerber also appeals to community members to report information regarding Kampinya to Captain Mandla Mphephethe on 071 481 3295.

@kgakantsho: “Not just a man but a foreigner who the owner employed in a space that was supposed to be occupied by a South African, in contravention of immigration act and Employment service Act. The hawks should not waste taxpayers’ money on such matters.
