As international travel starts to recover in the post-COVID world, airlines are ramping up their flights on many routes.

FLIGHT ROUTES

Asia appears to dominate the list with many of the world’s busiest flight routes currently being operated between cities on the Asian continent.

This points to the fact that there is high demand from passengers in the region.  

Therefore, airlines are meeting the demand levels with the provision of their flight services.

BUSIEST ROUTES

The world’s busiest international flight route is between Hong Kong and Taipei with over half a million seats being offered in January alone.

Coming in second spot is the route between Cairo and Jeddah, followed by Seoul to Osaka.

The other routes in the top ten are all operated within the Asian continent.

SOUTH AFRICA

Flights between Johannesburg and Dubai ranked within the top 10 busiest flights in the African region for January 2024, based on the number of scheduled airline seats.

The number of seats offered on the route for the month is 85 014.

The route is served by Emirates Airlines. The carrier operates several daily flights on this profitable route.

The aviation report analyses flight schedules and flight status data across the world.
