Sky high food prices alarm SA yet no formal complaints are made
SA spends a lot of time complaining about food prices but the National Consumer Commission reveals no official complaints have been made.
It’s no secret that most South Africans are struggling to make ends meet. Things have become so difficult that many are no longer enjoying luxuries and can barely afford essentials. Even sticking to the best deals and cheapest food stores doesn’t keep tough times at bay and unfortunately things don’t look like it will be improving anytime soon as food prices continue to soar.

On social media, hundreds of posts are dedicated to complaining about the cost of living and how expensive everything is getting. Despite this, a recent report revealed that the National Consumer Commission has received no formal complaints.

SA COMPLAINS ABOUT FOOD PRICES — BUT ONLY ONLINE
Years ago, shopping was much more of a pleasurable experience than it is today. This is because today, most families can only afford the bare minimum and not much else.
While the wages weren’t the highest in the past, it was certainly enough to get South African families through the month.
These days, households have been forced to make certain budget cuts and are no longer enjoying things like meat and family visits.

Last year, many spoke out about the sacrifices they have had to make to keep up with the current cost of living.
In an abundance of social media posts, South Africans complain almost daily about being crippled by the prices of everyday household items.
Many have also opened up about no longer being able to buy houses and cars and are now feeling hopeless as they are battling to reach any real accomplishments.

NO OFFICIAL COMPLAINTS
Despite this, The Citizen reports that no official complaints have been filed with the National Consumer Commission.
According to an article shared by the publication, the NCC has revealed that no one has come forward to contest the recent price hikes that has shaken SA.
