Every spring from early October to early November, Pretoria in Gauteng gets a splash of purple paint from Mother Nature in the form of stunning Jacaranda blossoms.

GROENKLOOF
According to Johannesburg In Your Pocket, Groenkloof, just south of the University of South Africa, is one of the best places to see the Jacarandas. The sloping streets of the area allow for maximum viewing of the special trees.

HERBERT BAKER STREET
Herbert Baker Street, also in Groenkloof, Pretoria, has become one of the most famous spots for its jacaranda blooms each year. The street has also been listed on CNN Travel’s “most beautiful streets of the world” list. Here you will find the street covered in a stunning mix of both purple and white jacarandas.

PRETORIA’S UNION BUILDINGS
The streets around Pretoria’s Union Buildings have a great collection of Jacaranda trees and in the spring they come alive with purple colour. Some special viwepoints of note include Eastwood Street, Government Avenue and Soutpansberg Road.
