WIMBLEDON ORDER OF PLAY: 12 JULY 2023
ALCARAZ TAKES CENTRE STAGE IN THE QUARTER-FINALS
Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune played doubles together as 13-year-olds and now they’re both 20 and contesting a Wimbledon quarter-final. These two know each other pretty well. Alcaraz, just six days younger than Danish star Rune, is the world number 1 and first earned that honour last year in September when he was still a teenager. This should be a cracking contest. Before them on centre court, a rematch of last year’s women’s final sees Tunisian star Ons Jabeur face defending champion Elena Rybakina.

MEDVEDEV LOOKING TO EXORCISE GRASS DEMONS
American Madison Keys and Belarussian number 2 seed Aryna Sabalenka will battle for a place in the semi-finals on court 1. Following them, 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev comes up against unseeded surprise package Christopher Eubanks. The tall American beat Stef Tsitsipas in a five-set thriller in the round of 16, setting up this showdown. He also won his first ever title last month in Mallorca. This is the furthest Medvedev has been at Wimbledon.
