A new study has revealed the most searched Premier League football stars on Google in the year 2023.
Deals and departures will be confirmed as the Premier League’s summer transfer window hits full swing.
But which star men attracted the most attention online?
The study by the sports betting community OLBG to analyse interest in players making moves.
Commenting on the findings, a spokesperson for OLBG said: “The transfer window is an exciting time for football fans, as gossip and speculation about big money moves swirls around in newspapers and online. It’s fascinating to see Harry Kane ranks as the most Googled Premier League player. Even with the arrival of Erling Haaland at Man City, and their treble triumph, fans’ interest in Kane and his future has been sky high and remained one of the main talking points of the season. However, there is not much difference in the number of monthly searches between him and Erling Haaland, and the data reveals an interesting north/south divide, with Kane’s search popularity highest in the South and Haaland in the North.”
THE MOST GOOGLED PREMIER LEAGUE STARS
OLBG found that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is the most searched Premier League player, receiving over 143,000 monthly Google searches.
Kane is the only Spurs player to make the top 20. He is the most-searched player in cities such as London, Brighton, Portsmouth, and Southampton.
Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s striker, takes the second spot with over 138,000 monthly searches. He has the highest searches in Manchester, Sheffield, Blackburn, and Blackpool.
