The KZN Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) says it has activated all its disaster management teams as bitterly cold and wet weather is expected in the province. Snow is also expected to make landfall.
The South African Weather Service (SAWS) said a cut-off low is expected to develop over the southern interior of South Africa. This system will result in a sudden and widespread lowering of maximum temperatures, especially over the Cape provinces.
KZN WEATHER FORECAST
The weather service forecasted a cold front associated with an upper trough that will bring significantly low daytime temperatures in KZN on Thursday and Friday. The freezing levels are dropping significantly, potentially resulting in snowfalls over parts of Harry Gwala, western uMgungundlovu, and uThukela districts.
