FLYING AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 HOURS
YouTube creator Noel Philips has made a trip around the world in just 80 hours this past April, embarking on the literal round trip departing Houston, Texas, and landing back at the city’s William P. Hobby Airport just over three days later.
According to Daily Mail, the quest spanned nine flights, seven different airlines, five countries and a total of 25 276 miles (about 40 677 km).

Noel, who’s Youtube channel has garnered over 420 000 subscribers, said that he had ‘five simple rules’ before setting out on his journey:
- Only taking low-cost or budget airlines
- Only flying on economy tickets
- Crossing into both hemispheres
- Advancing further east with every flight
- Making it back home within his stated time goal.

NINE FLIGHTS
The first leg of his trip was on Southwest, with a three-and-a-half hour flight departing from Houston’s Hobby to New York City’s LaGuardia, where he caught a LEVEL airlines flight to Barcelona.
He then boarded a three-hour flight on Vueling from Barcelona to Athens, where he spent the night.
Next up on his itinerary was an 11-hour-flight on Scoot airlines to Singapore, where he then hopped on a seven-and-a-half-hour Jetstar flight bound for Melbourne.

Once he landed in Melbourne, Noel discovered Jetstar had cancelled his connecting flight from Melbourne to Sydney. He then had to rebook on Qantas, which was the only non-budget airline he used.
Once he arrived in Sydney, Noel boarded a 10-hour flight to Honolulu, which he declared ‘the most uncomfortable flight’ of his trip.
With just 12-hours left, Noel then boarded a Southwest flight to Phoenix, Arizona, which took up 6-hours of his time.

He took off again on Southwest, departing Phoenix and finally touching down in Houston just after midnight.
“Here we are, 25,000 miles later, back here at Hobby airport in Houston! And a little under 80 hours since I was last here. Wow, what a trip!” Noel exclaimed in his video.
