An American TikToker recently rubbed South Africans the wrong way after making an entire TikTok to bash the lyrics of hit amapiano song Mnike. The song — which was made by local hitmaker Tyler ICU and features DJ Maphorisa — as gone viral on the social media platform and has left people from all around the world dancing.

According to the woman, who has since apologised for her video following backlash from South African social media users, the song contains “evil lyrics”.

US TIKTOKER DRAGGED BY MZANSI AFTER TROLLING AMAPIANO SONG ‘MNIKE’

Tyler ICU’s Mnike has reached a number of milestones in the musical sphere and has currently gone viral on social media app TikTok.

Millions of people around the world are doing the Mnike dance challenge and South Africans love to see it.

This must be why many of them hurried to defend the popular amapiano song after an American TikTok user, @Christalevelyn, claimed that the song’s lyrics were “evil”.

“Becareful what you’re listening to in other languages because we don’t really know what they’re saying,” she warns viewers.

She then goes on to explain that she is a Christian and doesn’t listen and sing along to just anything since words carry power.

THE SWIFT RETRACTION

Chrystal later took to TikTok again to say that she was wrong about the song after she was apparently blasted by South Africans who called her out for getting the lyrics and the meaning wrong.

“I am so sorry to the South African community, the last thing I want to do is spread misinformation or talk bad on any culture,” she said in the second video.

She also said that she had gotten the lyrics wrong and was “double misinformed.”
