Due to the new regulations released by the Dutch government last week, KLM has adapted its flight schedule beyond 18 January 2021. KLM will operate 4 flights per week from Johannesburg to Amsterdam and 3 flights per week from Cape Town to Amsterdam, with a technical stop to Dar Es Salaam. Passengers will remain on board during this stop.
KLM said in a media release on Monday that it is committed to working within the rules and regulations imposed during the pandemic, and the “health and safety of our passengers remains our number one priority”.
Air France schedules to and from South Africa not affected
Air France schedules have not been affected by these new regulations, and will continue to operate 3 times per week between Johannesburg and Paris.
Mandatory Covid tests before travelling from South Africa
KLM reminded passengers flying from South Africa who are travelling to the Netherlands, or transiting in the Netherlands, that they are now required to produce a negative rapid antigen test which must be taken four hours prior to departure. This antigen test can be taken at Cape Town International or O.R Tambo International airports where facilities are being arranged.
This antigen test is in addition to the mandatory negative PCR test valid 72h prior arrival in the Netherlands and the completed and signed Negative Test Declaration.
