Another G4S employee who allegedly helped serial rapist and murderer, Thabo Bester, escape from the Mangaung Correctional Centre in May 2022 is expected to make his first court appearance in Bloemfontein on Thursday morning, 20 April.

THE 51-YEAR-OLD SUSPECT FACES CHARGES OF ASSISTING THABO BESTER TO ESCAPE FROM LAWFUL CUSTODY AND DEFEATING THE ENDS OF JUSTICE
The 51-year-old suspect will face charges of assisting Thabo Bester to escape from lawful custody and defeating the ends of justice, according to national police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe.
The man was arrested at the Mangaung Correctional Centre on Tuesday, 18 April.
As previously reported, two other former employees are currently in custody for their role in the escape.
TWO OTHER FORMER EMPLOYEES AND BESTER’S LOVER ARE ALSO IN CUSTODY FOR THEIR ROLE IN INMATE’S ESCAPE
It is alleged that former G4S night duty supervisor, Senohe Matsoara, was instrumental in orchestrating Thabo Bester’s escape from the prison, while former Integritron Integrated Solutions technician Teboho Lipholo manipulated the CCTV cameras on the night.
Thabo Bester’s lover Dr Nandipha Magudumana is also in custody. The trio are expected to make a bail application on 3 May.

Magudumana’s father was also arrested in connection with the matter. Zolile Cornelius Sekeleni was granted R10 000 bail and is confined to Port Edward as part of his release conditions. His next appearance is expected on 16 May, the same day Bester himself is back in court.
