In a shock turn of events, it appears that Pirates are unhappy over the conduct of star centre back Olisa Ndah and could be set to make a big decision on his future.

Earlier this year, it was reported that Ndah was well on his way out of Pirates with Italian Serie A side Sassuolo thought to be his destination. It was even believed that the Buccaneers had gone as far as giving the Italian side their price for a potential transfer fee.

In the end, Ndah’s move to Sassuolo ended up being just that, talks with an injury to the centre back thought to be the reason why the Italians did not seem to follow up on their interest. That meant that he stayed put at Pirates, giving their faithful more time to enjoy his ‘Rolls Royce’ style of defence, for at least another six months, which will see him finish a second season with the Soweto giants.

Besides Sassuolo, reports claim that there was more concrete interest from a club in Sweden for Ndah’s services, but the injury ruled him out of that move also. Since then, that has been the story of the Nigerian international’s season, which has been marred by setbacks. He has hardly featured this year, with the Soweto Derby where he scored a late own-goal against Chiefs remaining his last appearance for Pirates thus far.

Earlier this week, this publication reported that Ndah now has other potential suitors in Europe as well as options in the MLS. Now according to The Citizen, the player has been trying to force a move behind the scenes, which has rubbed up the Pirates management the wrong way.

PIRATES TO TERMINATE NDAH’S CONTRACT?

“Apparently, it was known that Ndah had set his sights on going to the top European leagues at some point. It was thought that he would spend at least three seasons with the club. But that hasn’t been the case because to be honest, he has not been playing much and making the starting line-up is hard for him. But he brought that to himself because he was no longer the player that we saw when he first came into the club. He was not doing his best at training, and fortunately, coach Jose Riveiro doesn’t have favourites. Only players that give their best at training play at Pirates.” Said a source to the publication.

It would certainly come as a major shock if Pirates were to terminate the contract of one of their key players in Ndah, especially at a time where they are believed to be ready and wiling to cash in on his services.
