The City of Tshwane says results from sampling testing taken from multiple sites around Temba and Hammanskraal pertaining to tracing the cholera outbreak came back negative.
This comes as at least 15 people have died from cholera including two children aged three and nine.
LATEST ON HAMMANSKRAAL CHOLERA OUTBREAK
The City of Tshwane said multiple reservoirs, fire hydrants, primary schools, clinics and other locations that receive water from the Temba Treatment Plant were tested.
“All of these tests have conducively indicated that there are no microbiological contaminants that point to E.coli or Faecal Coliforms that can be linked to the cholera outbreak,” the City said.

This means that the water that is distributed via the municipality’s bulk water distribution network in Hammanskraal does not have cholera present in it.
The City of Tshwane this does not mean that the water is safe to drink as it is treated heavily with Chlorine.
Meanwhile, angry residents who had gathered outside the Jubilee District Hospital in Hammanskraal on Monday, 22 May chased away Mayor Cilliers Brink saying it is too late for him to intervene as the cholera outbreak has claimed 15 lives. The water crisis has been ongoing for years now.

Brink said the incident was orchestrated by the opposition in the City of Tshwane.
