The family of German tourist Nick Frischke who went missing while on vacation in Cape Town last year says they are hoping for a miracle as they mark the first anniversary of his disappearance.

Frischke was last seen on February 15 leaving his Airbnb in Pinelands and setting off on a hike alone on the Hangberg trail between Hout Bay and Sandy Bay.

“Today is very emotional, I am at a loss for words and only tears flow from my eyes. For us this is certainly unbearable, not knowing what happened to him, exactly a year ago today. It’s been a very stressful year, and we hope that we can take Nick in our arms again. We are all hoping for a miracle,” he said.

SEARCH OPERATIONS FOR THE TOURIST IN HANGBERG YIELDED NO RESULTS.

Hangberg community activist Warren Abrahams said they hope that the case could be concluded so the family can find closure.

“The Hangberg community got involved and assisted with the searches, but we could not find him. It’s a year since he went missing. We hope that this matter can be concluded and that the Frischke family can find closure. This is a very bad and sad issue for the Hangberg community,” he said.
