After that, they announced that Ntsako Makhubela, Craig Martin, Nkanyiso Zungu, Ndumiso Mabena and Kopano Thuntsane would leave the club, after they were found to be surplus to requirements. That list of exits is set to expand in the new month with players set to depart when their contracts end, while others will be transfer listed or loaned out. One of those players is set to be midfielder Ben Motshwari.

Motshwari is set to see his Pirates deal expire at the end of June and it has been well publicised that both he and the club failed to reach an agreement on fresh terms. That then prompted the rumour mill to go on overdrive, with the combative midfielder finding himself linked to rivals Kaizer Chiefs, Sekhukhune United and SuperSport United. Now according to Soccer-Laduma AmaZulu have since entered the picture in the hope of capturing the signature of the player.

“They are considering bringing in Ben Motshwari. They are apparently talking to his representatives and things are looking good, It seems since they lost Makhaula to Pirates, their midfield has been very unstable and that’s why they want to bring in an experienced defensive midfielder like him. They want to fight for everything they will play in and they are looking at building a well balanced team going ahead” said the source to the same publication.

Motshwari saw his game time become more limited at Pirates last season and with age no longer on his side, he will be hoping to go to a club that will help him enjoy the final years of his career.
