Police and volunteers continue to comb the Table Mountain area in search of missing American woman Julie Goodness.

As reported by The SA People website, Goodness, 38, was last seen in Bellevue Street, in the Higgovale area on Monday morning.
SAPS confirmed that she took a path from Glencoe Road/Molteno Road in Oranjezicht leading onto the foothills of Table Mountain.
Goodness has reportedly been an on-and-off resident in Cape Town for the past 14 years and knows the hiking trails on Table Mountain well.
As in the picture below, she was last seen wearing a purple/pink long-sleeved sports top, blue jeans and colourful sneakers, an oversized jacket with a white canvas bag.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie confirmed that a search was under way in the Table Mountain area.
JULIE GOODNESS WAS LAST SEEN ON MONDAY MORNING
“Cape Town Central SAPS has opened a missing’s person file and commenced with a multi-disciplinary search for the missing 38-year-old who was last seen leaving her place of accommodation on Monday, 24 April 2023 at about 07:45.
“Search and Rescue from the police and volunteers are combing the Table Mountain area in an attempt to trace the missing lady,“ Pojie said.

According to Goodness’s LinkedIn page she is a currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stockholm Resilience Centre, while a post on the University of Cape Town’s (UCT) website states: Julie Goodness is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Global Risk Governance programme’s Art of Resilience project.
MISSING PERSON’S MESSAGE POSTED ON FACEBOOK
The Atlantic Seaboard Community Forum posted a missing person’s message on Monday.
Caucasian American woman approximately 1.6m tall, weighing about 50kg with dark brown hair and blue/grey eyes. Her hair goes down to her mid-back and is usually worn in a pony tail.
Talks with an American accent.
Last seen wearing purple/pink long sleeve sports top, blue jeans, and colourful sneakers with pinkish soles and big black oversized puffer jacket carrying a canvas tote bag cream/off white color.
Last seen at approximately 07:45 on 2023/04/24 in Bellevue Street, Higgovale, Cape Town.
Regular trail runner so may be on the mountain somewhere.

Goodness’s disappearance is the second incident in which a foreign national has gone missing in recent months.
According to the Cape{town}etc website, Nick Frischke’s family have offered a reward of R20 000 to anyone who can provide information regarding his whereabouts.
Frischke, who was on holiday in Cape Town at the time of his disappearance, was last spotted leaving his bed and breakfast in Pinelands on 14 February 2023.
The 22-year-old vanished after allegedly being robbed on a hiking trail in the Hout Bay area.
