EVERY MISS ITALY CONTESTANT MUST BE A ‘WOMAN FROM BIRTH’
According to Italian outlet Il Primato Nazionale Miss Italy patron Patrizia Mirigliani told Radio Cusano that she considered transgender inclusivity made by other beauty pageants to be “a bit absurd”.
“Lately, beauty pageants have been trying to make headlines by also using strategies that I think are a bit absurd”, she said.

Patrizia Mirigliani also said that all Miss Italy contestants must be a ‘woman from birth’ and that the beauty pageant competition would not be jumping on the “glittery bandwagon of trans activism”.
She continued: “Since it was born, my competition has foreseen in its regulation the clarification according to which one must be a woman from birth”.
“Probably because, even then, it was foreseen that beauty could undergo modifications, or that women could undergo modifications, or that men could become women,” she added.

MISS NETHERLANDS CROWNS FIRST TRANS WOMAN
Mirigliani’s opinion on transgender inclusion comes after Rikkie Kolle made history by becoming the first transgender woman to be crowned as Miss Netherlands on 8 July.
After coming out as transgender at a young age, Rikkie endured a life with no moral support, and because of this she wants to now focus on her bright future by leaving all memories of suffering and turmoil in the past.
“I DID IT!!!! Yes I’m trans and I want to share my story but I’m also Rikkie and that’s what matters to me. And wherever you are in the world, I want to be there for you and be the example that I missed as a little me”, the 22-year-old model shared to her Instagram.
