Sundowns are no strangers to opening their cheque book, and they will almost certainly do so again with Tlakusani Mthethwa thought to be a target.

Mthethwa currently plies his trade for Swallows FC, and has been a revelation for them this season. The 29-year-old has been a big reason the club has gone from relegation strugglers to knocking on the door for a top eight finish. With just one league game to go, the Dube Birds find themselves in ninth position while on the same amount of points as eighth place Golden Arrows.

That run of form for Swallows seems to have attracted the attentions of Sundowns and their coaching staff, who now, according to reports are interested in signing Mthethwa, as they already plan another hectic season which will, again see them competing in potentially six fronts if they win the CAF Champions League this season.
SUNDOWNS INTERESTED IN MTHETHWA
“For Sundowns it is very important to sign Tlakusani (Mthethwa) but it will depend on what Swallows wants. He has been an important part of the team since they bought the status from Maccabi FC. But you known it’s all about money in this game and Sundowns have that. If they want a player they are ready to pay. Their main aim is to have a player who can replace Andile Jali and they feel Tlakusani is the right one. His experience comes in handy and that’s what Sundowns need at the moment”. Said a source to Soccer-Laduma.

Sundowns already have a stacked midfield even with Jali believed to be on the way out, so it remains to be seen if they will pursue Mthethwa or rely on the likes of Bongani Zungu and Rivaldo Coetzee to step next season.
