ORLANDO PIRATES STAR SALENG IS THE BEST OF THE BEST
Saleng bagged 13 goals in 29 league matches for Free Stats stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championshipo and he hasn’t looked back since. Pirates swooped in to sign him before loaning the winger to Swallows. After an unsuccessful spell with the Dube Birds, Saleng exploded into the general football consciousness with a scintillating 2022-23 campaign.
He was a key figure in their run to two domestic cup triumphs, and was the only player in the top-flight to bag double figures for both goals and assists across all competitions last term. All told, he directly contributed to 26 goals in 30 Buccaneers outings.

MASSIVE MONEY ON THE TABLE FOR SALENG
Last month, Al Nasr were mentioned as a potential suitor for Saleng. After incentives and bonuses, they were dangling a carrot of R37.3 million annually to lure the 25-year-old to the Middle East. Now earlier in the week, it was reported that Pirates had put a R75 million price tag on his head. But now, according to the latest report from iDiski Times, both Pirates management and players could breathe a sigh of relief as the move taking Saleng to Al Nasr now looks dead in the water.

SALENG TO STAY PUT AT ORLANDO PIRATES?
“Orlando Pirates have reportedly told potential suitors that Monnapule Saleng would cost them $4 million (R75 million) to prise him away from South Africa. This comes in the wake of reported interest from Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr, but it appears a move is very unlikely to be happening as they have now filled all five foreign spots.”
