INMATE FURTHERS HIS STUDIES WITH ANOTHER LAW DEGREE

From breaking the law to studying it, Unisa made the announce of Katlego Tlhabatlhaba’s achievements on Wednesday and says that it was all possible through the institutions flagship Open Distance and eLearning design.
“I feel equal among many graduates. The knowledge I gained through my studies enabled me to see things differently and to exercise my beliefs freely” says Tlhabatlhaba.
The prisoner is not done yet with his studies as he now in obtaining a BCom Law degree.

TLHABATLHABA SERVING TIME FOR MURDER
According to a 2017 Bloemfontein Courant article, Tlhabatlhaba was sentenced to 20 years’ direct imprisonment for murder and five years’ for kidnapping.
In 2016, a then 24year old Tlhabatlhaba solicited the help of Lebogang Chris Mmulutsi and Gosiame Letebele to kidnap and murder 30-year-old Thabang Kobo.

The trio, apparently tied up Kobo, placed a rock on top of him and throw him in a dam in Thaba Nchu. According to Tlhabatlhaba, the vicious attack on the deceased was carried out because the deceased allegedly sold him a site for R20 000 but he never received the site nor got his money back.
